Verdell accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.  She had a very feisty spirit but was full of love.  She was a very giving person who would help anyone in need.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Wandell M. Beazer and son-in-law(Edward J. Beazer) of Poughkeepsie, NY, three grandchildren, Sashia J. Couvertier of Washington D.C., Jamari L. Linen of New Jersey and Chelsea M. Beazer of Poughkeepsie, NY, one great grandson Aaron S. Mitchell
